Digipede Technologies is local startup company looking for talented, highly motivated, and technically minded individuals to intern in our Software Engineering group.  The Software Engineering Intern will get the opportunity to develop new features across the Digipede Network –a breakthrough commercial distributed computing solution for Microsoft Windows that boosts application speed and performance using existing computing resources.  Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving bugs as we push towards our first commercial release. Requirements

This position requires:

  • Current student at the top of his/her class (3.5 GPA and above)
  • Good written and oral communication skills, detail-oriented approach to problem solving
  • A positive attitude and patient approach in working with customers
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal instruction and supervision
  • Superior computer troubleshooting skills and general computer knowledge
  • Experience with Windows, Office, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Experience in computer programming and/or scripting

In addition, the following skills are not required, but are a plus:

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows .NET

Job Description: Black box/Functional Testers:

Requirements:

  • Working towards a technical undergraduate or graduate degree.
  • Prefer industry experience in doing black box testing
  • Prefer experience with creating test cases, finding bugs and filing bugs and writing test plans
  • Prefer knowledge of writing functional tests, stress tests and scalability tests
  • Prefer experience in deploying applications on to Servlet engines( Tomcat/WL/ WAS)
  • Technical knowledge of multi-tier enterprise applications
  • Experience in using the tools ( p4, Bugzilla or any bug tracking tools)
  • Good experience in using Windows, Linux, MySQL, Oracle or any other database
  • Knowledge in J2EE programming languages such as java, jsp, servlets, XML, JMX is a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Review design documents and UI prototypes to assess usability and testability.
  • Workwith QA and development team to release high quality software within the constraints of release cycle.
  • Design and develop black box/functional tests and test plans
  • Run manual and automated test cases, including functional, system, stress and performance tests
  • Track failures from automated tests and root cause the issue and assign owners
  • Work with developers to investigate, reproduce, and fix bugs
  • Submit, review , verify and bring to closure all bugs reported
